Graham Alexander feels his side can take confidence following their emphatic 4-1 victory over Newport County on the final day of the Sky Bet League Two season.
The Bantams took a 2-0 lead into half-time and followed this up with a further two goals after the break.
Alexander was frustrated to concede, but was pleased to see four different goalscorers, something he has been wanting his side to accomplish throughout the season, spreading goals through the squad.
“It gives us confidence,” he said.
“The team have shown their capabilities over the last stretch of games. I could not have asked for more from the players since Harrogate.
“It was a phenomenal response. It gives us all extra belief, that we can be better, that we can go better.
“We had a few scares on the counter, but we were the dominant team throughout the game. We showed great composure.
“Newport showed they were not going to come here and lie down, they showed fight, but our players played our game.
“It was frustrating to concede, but pleasing to have four different goalscorers. It was a fantastic performance.”
The Bantams boss is looking forward to getting back down to business over the pre-season period, in preparation for the Bantams' 2024/25 season.
He also acknowledged a poignant afternoon for the club, with his first experience of a memorial fixture marking the anniversary of the Valley Parade Fire Disaster.
“We have a couple of months before pre-season, we have to use it wisely,” Alexander added.
“The players will have recovery time, then we need to be ready for pre-season - the time we have gives us a good timeframe for next season.
“We can improve as a team, and that is the goal. If we improve, that gives us an important chance to have a great season next year.
“It was my first experience of [a memorial fixture]. It was very well done, it hit the notes it needed to hit, and it was a fantastic day.
“It is important to buy into those feelings, and buy into what Bradford City means to people - how it makes them feel.
“It was horrendous what happened, but with what the club are doing, bringing everyone together, it is fantastic to see.”
