As City prepare for their Easter Bank Holiday double header, Graham Alexander is focused on making his side the best they can be, as they continue to try and turn their form.
The Bantams host Tranmere Rovers on Good Friday before travelling to Grimsby Town on Easter Monday, on the back of four-straight defeats.
The City boss has emphasised the importance of his side doing ‘the best you can, every single day’, despite the fact their objectives may have changed over the past month.
“It will be a tough game, as they all are,” he said.
“But, my focus, as always, is to prepare my team.
“Every game, you come up against good players and good coaches, and you have to overcome those challenges. That is what we will try to do over this weekend.
“I believe you have to get your own house in order and do the best you can every single day.
“We are still breathing, so we will still fight. We still have a lot to play for. Not the same things we had to play for a month ago, but we still need to compete.
“There is still a fight in us, but we have to show that.
“We cannot ignore a four-match losing streak, but I believe in leaving the past in the past and dealing with the future.
“Where we are now is about doing.”
City finished the game last Saturday with two academy graduates on the field - Bobby Pointon and Noah Wadsworth. The latter of whom was making his City debut.
Alexander is pleased with the way both players have developed since he took the reins, and offered words of advice.
“It is important for clubs to have a clear pathway for players to come through, if they are good enough,” he added.
“Bobby (Pointon) had his opportunity before I came here and Noah (Wadsworth) has had his since.
“I see how they go about their business, and when an opportunity comes, how they take it.
“Noah did exactly what I wanted from his when making his debut. He showed composure and was comfortable on the ball.
“I just want him to believe more in himself that he belongs here, but that will take time.
“I think he is a player that, if he keeps his head down, can have a good career.”
